To demonstrate this competency, career development practitioners must:
- identify and collaborate with interested organizations, e.g., employers, non-profit organizations, unions, employment equity organizations, government agencies
- initiate and follow up on initial contacts with potential employers
- assist employers in accessing appropriate information/services relevant to employers’ requests, e.g., upgrading programs for staff
- maintain contacts in organizations that include clients, employers, professionals
- maintain contacts in government agencies
- maintain memberships
- maintain databases, if available
